Little Trees & Me

Last week I found myself thinking about my photography journey.  I’ve learned so much, grown so much, shot so much. But I’ve also noticed a trend of myself being in less and less photos. And I’m okay with this, really. I’m not one to pose and get excited about photos of myself – I feel the opposite to be honest. But then I think about my girls, and how they will look back at the year when I make my annual album.  And I want to be there.  Because I was there. I don’t want to be remembered as the one behind the frame {despite the fact hubby does ask, I just get selfish with my camera, whoops!}. I want to be with them – my lap full, laughing, giggling, joking, like we do everyday yet it goes undocumented.  So here it is.  Us doing what we do every single day.  I setup a quick tripod and my oldest used the wireless remote for a vast majority of these photos.  We tickled, my girl had us do various funny faces, and we used props from the forest surrounding us.  I’m sort of in love.  Not because I think I look nice, but because it was real.  I look at these and I am brought back to that day.  Warm, relaxed, and full of love.  So here we are: Little Trees, and Me.

  1. April, it’s so hard for a regular non-photographer Mom to get out to the other side of the lens, can imagine it’s even harder for you. These are lovely pictures of you and
    your bond with your girls.
